Support RASASC on Giving Tuesday

There are several ways you can support RASASC this Giving Tuesday

Today, Tuesday 29 November, is Giving Tuesday, a day dedicated to doing good and celebrating the work done by charities.

RASASC is the only organisation in Surrey supporting all survivors of rape and sexual abuse. We support everyone, however you identify, over the age of 13 through our helpline, Independent Sexual Violence Advisor and counselling services.

We have been operating for 30 years, after staff at a sexual health clinic identified the need for a specialist service in the area.

What we do

In 2021/22 we provided:

  • 4,068 free counselling sessions
  • Support for 767 clients through our Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) service
  • Advice and support for 1,083 callers to our confidential helpline

All our services are free and non-judgemental. To find out more about our services and how to get in touch, visit our get support page.

How you can support us

RASASC was established in 1992, making this year our 30th year!

You could help us mark our anniversary by taking on a fundraising challenge for our 30th birthday – do 30 things and aim to raise £30 towards our work, it’s that simple! Or check out our events page for how to get a place in an organised event, plus ideas for organising your own event.

There are also several other ways you can support us, from eBay to the Guildford Community Lottery and shopping at Co-op – there are lots of easy ways you can get involved with supporting RASASC!

Volunteer for us

We have an incredible team of volunteers who support our work, from our helpline, our counselling service, our trustees and those that help out at events. Visit our website to view our current volunteering opportunities and get involved.

Donate

We really couldn’t do it without the generosity of our supporters so a huge thank you to all those who have supported us.

However, demand for our services has grown whilst opportunities for funding are becoming increasingly more difficult. If you would like to make a donation in support of our work, you can help to support survivors of rape and sexual abuse across Surrey as they rebuild their lives.

This Giving Tuesday, support RASASC in our vital work, and you will be helping survivors of rape and sexual abuse across Surrey. Thank you

We’re pleased with the news that children who have experienced child sexual abuse and exploitation are now to be considered in the new Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) strategy, as announced by MP Jess Phillips. The new VAWG strategy was due to be published in the summer, but has now been pushed back towards the end of 2025. We will have to wait until the final strategy is released to see the impact it will have for those concerned. RASASC was part of a large contingent of signatories on an open letter to the Home Secretary, requesting that victims of child sexual abuse and exploitation be included within the VAWG strategy. We are delighted that this action has had a positive impact. Following several delays and a degree of mystery surrounding what will be in the final version, we sincerely hope that the completed VAWG strategy has heeded the advice and recommendations from experts, to deliver an effective and fully resourced plan of action.
