How can this service help?

Our ISVAs provide emotional and practical advice and support for people who have experienced rape, sexual abuse or any other type of sexual violence, at any time in their lives. The service is open to all survivors, aged 13 and over.

We aim to give you support and information so that you can make informed choices, take control of your situation and rebuild your life.

Our ISVA service can:

  • Help you to get the support you need and decide what to do
  • Support you to access healthcare and explain your options
  • Provide information about the legal process, so that you can make an informed decision about whether or not to report to the police
  • Support you in making a report to the police and at all stages of the legal process (if you decide to report)
  • Attend court with you, if you have no one else to support you
  • Liaise with the police for regular updates and keep you informed of developments
  • Advocate for you with the police and other agencies, if needed
  • Signpost to other support you may need, such as housing, healthcare or counselling

Our ISVAs will support you regardless of whether you decide to report to the police or not

How can I get support?

You can request support from our ISVA service by completing our referral form.

Once we receive your referral form, an ISVA will contact you for an initial chat and to arrange a time and place to meet. This will normally be within five working days of receiving your form, excluding weekends. Please note we do not do home visits, except in exceptional circumstances.

How can I refer someone else?

Statutory and voluntary agencies and other professionals can make a referral, with the survivor’s consent, using our agency referral form.
