Work for Us

Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA)

We're looking for an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) to join our friendly team.

ISVAs are advocates who support survivors of rape and sexual abuse, helping them to access the services they need in the aftermath of the abuse they have experienced.

An ISVA provides individual support and this will vary from client to client, but it could be advising on the Criminal Justice System, liaising with a survivor's employer on their behalf, helping them access GP appointments and advising on suitable services for that individual.

ISVAs have a full and varied caseload that will include survivors progressing through the criminal justice process as well as survivors that have decided not to report. You will be based at our office in Guildford, but will have clients all over Surrey, so you will need to have a full driving licence and access to a car that you can use for work purposes.

To find out more, read the job description, and to apply, complete both the application and equal opportunities forms and return them both to Liz at admin@rasasc-guildford.org by the closing date of Friday 12th September at 12 noon.

Engagement and Fundraising Volunteer

We are currently recruiting for an Engagement and Fundraising Volunteer to assist our Fundraising Manager and Communications and Engagement Manager in raising awareness of RASASC.

This role is based in Guildford and will help with admin tasks, attending events, supporting with preparing and delivering talks about RASASC and the work we do, and helping to raise awareness of RASASC and our services.

In  return you will gain knowledge and insight in working in the charity sector, plus mentoring and advice from both our Communications and Engagement Manager and our Fundraising Manager. We can cover reasonable travel expenses, plus you will be given necessary training for the role.

To find out more, view the job description, and to apply, complete both the application form and the equal opportunities form and  return them to helen.fundraising@rasasc-guildford.org

Volunteer counsellors

As our counselling service is growing and meeting new needs for our clients, we are keen to invite new volunteer counsellors to join our service. We are looking for:

  • experienced and newly-qualified counsellors
  • counsellors who are able to work remotely via telephone and video
  • counsellors who are able to work both face-to-face as well as remotely
  • counsellors who are BACP registered or equivalent, and can work on a voluntary basis with survivors of rape and sexual abuse in Surrey, offering both long and short term one-to-one work with clients.

In return, we offer free, three-weekly group supervision, six free trauma-related training workshops per year, travel expenses (where applicable), and membership of a team of mutually-supportive counsellors, supervisors and the RASASC organisational network, all of whom are passionate about our work. There are also occasional social gatherings!

If this sounds like the role for you, we’d love to hear from you. Please send your CV to admin@rasasc-guildford.org. You can really make a difference.
