RASASC delighted at adoption of all IICSA report recommendations
We’re delighted at the UK Government’s announcement of 16 January that they will be adopting all 20 of the recommendations from the final report of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse.
Thank you to all of our supporters who joined our voice in this campaign, from writing to your MP or sharing our social media posts raising awareness of the need to act. Your actions will help protect those at risk from child sexual abuse.
RASASC Guildford, as a member of The Survivors Trust, have long been a supporter of the Act on IICSA campaign and we will be watching closely to ensure that these promises are acted upon. We are fully committed, along with other member agencies, to turning the tide on the epidemic of child sexual abuse.
RASASC Guildford CEO Daisy Anderson said: “The adoption of all 20 IICSA recommendations is a decisive step in the right direction in safeguarding children from child sexual abuse. We have a long way to go but this is a cause for hope, and at RASASC Guildford, we are very proud to have played our part in supporting the Act on IICSA campaign.
“We will now watch with determination to ensure that words are backed up by decisive action.”
The Act on IICSA campaign remains committed to collaborating with the Government, specifically on their lived experience consultation plan, and ensuring that these recommendations lead to meaningful action and systemic reform.
