Donation FAQs

Thank you for considering making a donation to RASASC. We understand you may have some questions about your donation and how we will use it, so please have a read through our donation FAQs below.

  • Why does RASASC need donations?

As a charity, we rely solely on donations and grants to keep our services going.  There are several reasons why we ask for support in this way:

Fundraising is increasingly more difficult: since the pandemic ended, more and more charities are competing for fewer funds.

Increase in costs: our costs have soared in the last five years due to cost of living increases.

Demand has increased and the need for our services has increased rapidly since 2020: demand for our ISVA service has risen by 30% and demand for our counselling services has increased by more than 160%.

  • What will my donation be used for?

Your donation, whether big or small, is so important as it goes straight back into supporting survivors.  It will help us to:

    • Develop and expand the services we offer.
    • Reach survivors who may struggle to request help.
    • Cover essentials such as our running costs and overheads.
    • Ensure we can continue to offer our services for free.
    • Enable us to plan for the future and keep RASASC going.
  • I can’t afford to make a one off or weekly donation, will I still be able to use your services?

Yes of course. Supporting you is our absolute priority. You can still access our services whether you decide to donate or not.

  • How can I donate?

It’s very easy. You can make a donation:

When you come into our office using our card payment machine.

On the donate page of our website, where you can make a one off or set up a recurring payment.

Or by scanning the QR code here (link opens in a pop up) or on the posters in our office.

  • I would prefer to donate cash, is this ok?

Yes of course. Please put your cash donation into one of our envelopes and post it into the donation box in the office.

If you are a UK taxpayer, please complete the Gift Aid form on the envelope. This allows RASASC to claim an extra 25% on top of your donation, at no extra cost to you.

  • I haven’t told anyone that I am receiving support from RASASC. Will my donation to you appear on my bank statement?

Your wellbeing is our priority. Please consider your safety first when deciding whether you wish to donate to us.

Our name will not come up on your bank statement when paying online. However, you will receive a thank you email and a receipt.

If you would still like to give, you can donate cash anonymously using our special collection box (see question above for how to do this)

If you are at all worried, please get in touch with us at fundraising@rasasc-guildford.org and we will support you.

  • How else can we support RASASC?

We are always looking for inspiring people like you to help us to fundraise. There are so many creative and wonderful ways that you can support us:

    • You could take on an event or challenge like a walk, run, swim or even abseil down a building.
    • Organise your own event for us like a bake sale, dinner or auction. Have a look at our events page for more information or email events@rasasc-guildford.org. We will support you every step of the way.
    • Nominate us to be your company’s charity of the year, add us to your payroll giving or support us to access any charitable grants that your workplace gives.

If you are on social media, please like and share our posts on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. The more we spread the word, the more we can reach other survivors and raise valuable funds.
