Donation FAQs

Thank you for considering making a donation to RASASC. We understand you may have some questions about your donation and how we will use it, so please have a read through our donation FAQs below.

  • What will my donation be used for?

Donating to RASASC means we can use your donation wherever we need it most, with no restrictions. This is a huge advantage to RASASC.

For example, it could be used to help deliver counselling sessions, pay for our ISVA staff team or go towards helping to keep our organisation going, through paying staffing and building costs, which in turn, will help us reach more people.

  • Why does RASASC need donations?

There are a few reasons why we need donations:

Increase in demand. Requests for our services have increased rapidly since 2020. Demand for our counselling services has increased by over 160%, and requests for support from our ISVAs has increased by 30%.

Our costs have increased. The cost of living crisis has meant all of our costs have gone up, and we need to meet these costs.

Donations are unrestricted, meaning we can spend the money where we need it. 90% of our funding is restricted to different services or projects. While these grants are amazing in helping to support our work, we really need unrestricted funding to allow us to spend money where we need it most. Unrestricted funding also helps to ensure we can continue to offer our services for free and allows us to plan for the long term.

Fundraising is increasingly more difficult. Many charities are struggling to stay afloat, and securing grants for our work has become harder and much more competitive.

  • How can I donate?

You can donate through the donate page on our website, or by scanning the QR code (link opens in a pop up)

  • Can I make a cash donation?

Ideally, we prefer donations to be made online, as we can claim Gift Aid (which adds 25% more to your donation, at no extra cost to you) and it also allows us to record the donation and thank you - we don’t always know who has made a cash donation.

However, if you would prefer to donate cash then we will of course, gladly accept your kind donation towards our work. Please contact your ISVA or the Counselling Coordinator for details of how to do this.

  • How else can I support RASASC?

You can take on a fundraising activity like a sponsored walk, swim or run, or take part in one of our events or challenges. Have a look at our events page for details of our current events and how to get in touch.

You can nominate us as a chosen charity for your works corporate giving scheme if you have one

If you are able to support us on social media, liking and sharing our posts helps us to be  visible to more people that may need us.  We’re on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn

You can also encourage your friends and family to donate to us, this  is a great way to ensure we can keep supporting everyone that needs us.
