Donate a Lasting Legacy in your Will
Leaving a gift in your will to RASASC will make a lasting difference to the lives of survivors across Surrey and beyond.
Please consult your solicitor about the precise wording.
You can leave a fixed sum or a percentage of your estate.
If you've decided to draw up your Will yourself, here is our suggested wording for a legacy clause: “I give to RASASC (Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre) in Guildford, Registered Charity No.1145816 the sum of £ ....... free of all taxes, for its charitable purposes, and I declare that the receipt of the charity’s authorised officer will be sufficient discharge to my executors.”
There are different types of Legacy
Residuary Legacy - A percentage of your estate. This will make the biggest difference to RASASC, because it will keep its value better than a gift of a fixed sum of money.
Pecuniary Legacy - A fixed sum of money from your estate.
Why leave a gift?
We are entirely funded by the public, so we rely on donations to carry out our work.
Financial benefits of leaving a gift in your
Legacies are generally exempt from inheritance tax, so a gift in your Will to RASASC could be tax free for us and in some circumstances could reduce the amount of inheritance tax your loved ones are liable for. If you would like more information, please visit the HMRC website.
