RASASC supporter George is taking on his biggest challenge yet, by undertaking his first ever marathon.
Liverpool-based George is RASASC’s official runner in the 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon. He said:
“This is my first time doing a marathon which is very scary! I have completed a few half marathons before, and I am excited for the challenge of a full marathon.”
George is running in support of RASASC due to a family staff member. He adds:
“I get to see how hard she works and how motivated she is in helping survivors.”
George works for meaningful travel company Smaller Earth, who help young people work and travel around the world. Due to his job, most of his summer training was done overseas in America:
“I was away in America for the summer working at a kid’s summer camp, something I have done for the past 10 years, so I was able to train in some really cool places – a highlight being a coastal path just outside of Santa Cruz!”
And in terms of his hopes for marathon day:
“I hope to complete the marathon in under five hours, I think a marathon is one of those big life events everyone should do (or attempt!) so I am really excited to tick it off the bucket list!”
