A RASASC survivor has found a way to process what happened to them through creating art.
The painting, called ‘Trapped’ shows how they felt during their sexual assault, and the survivor now plans to paint whenever they feel overwhelmed to help deal with the trauma responses that can occur.
The piece was created following a support call with one of our Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVAs), where it was suggested the survivor used their love of creativity to express their feelings. Following on from this, the piece was entered into a local art competition, and won!
